Web application development services

Web application development services for portals, dashboards and internal tools. Written scope, roles, API and admin, built remotely. You own the code.

A website shows information. A web application lets people do something: log in, submit data, approve a request, see their own records. If your team runs on shared spreadsheets, email threads and manual copy-paste, or if customers need a portal, you are looking at web application development.

We build the application, the admin side that runs it and the API behind it, against a written scope and in increments you can try.

What we build

  • Customer and supplier portals. Accounts, permissions, document exchange, order or request tracking.
  • Internal tools. Dashboards, approval workflows and reporting that replace spreadsheets.
  • Operations systems. Scheduling, inventory, dispatch, bookings and back-office records in one place.
  • Data and reporting layers. Imports, exports, scheduled reports and the integrations that feed them.
  • Progressive web apps. A web application that installs on a phone and works on weak connections, when a store listing is not worth it.

What every build includes

Piece What it means in practice
Authentication and roles Who can see and change what, defined in the scope, enforced on the server
Admin panel Your staff manage users, records and settings without a developer
API A documented REST API, so mobile apps and outside systems can connect later
Integrations Payments, email, CRM, accounting or ERP, connected through their APIs
Environments Staging and production, with a repeatable deployment
Handover Repository, infrastructure accounts and documentation in your name

Web app, website or off-the-shelf tool?

Not every need calls for custom code. A short rule we use in discovery:

  • If the content is mostly read and edited by staff, a WordPress site is usually enough.
  • If an existing tool covers most of the process and the rest can live in a spreadsheet, buy the tool.
  • If your process is the product, or the tool bends your process more than the other way round, build.

We tell you which of these you are in before we quote a build.

What the SERP leaves out

Most agency pages list technologies and industries. They rarely say how scope is controlled or what you hold at the end. These are our terms:

  1. A written scope with milestones before any build is billed.
  2. A recorded demo at the end of each increment.
  3. A repository in your account from the first commit.
  4. A handover that lets another developer continue without us.

How the build runs

  1. Brief and discovery. Users, roles, data, integrations and constraints.
  2. Written scope and estimate. Screens, modules, milestones and a USD estimate. You can cut or reorder before we start.
  3. Increments. Short cycles, each ending with a working demo on staging.
  4. Launch. Deployment, data migration where needed, monitoring.
  5. Handover and support. Documentation and access transferred. Fixes and the next phase continue as agreed.

The process page shows what you receive at each stage.

Stack

Laravel or Node.js on the server, React or Next.js on the front end, PostgreSQL or MySQL for data. REST APIs and webhooks connect other systems. We recommend the stack your future maintainers can hire for, and explain the trade-off in plain language.

Frequently asked questions

What is web application development?

It is building software that runs in the browser and handles user accounts, data and actions, not just pages of content. A portal, a booking system and an internal dashboard are all web applications.

How much does it cost to develop a web app?

It depends on scope: roles, modules, integrations and data volume. After a short discovery call you get a written estimate in USD. No public price list exists, because no two applications match.

What is the difference between a web application and a website?

A website is read. A web application is used: people log in, create records and trigger processes. Many projects need a site and an application, and we scope them separately.

Do you build progressive web apps?

Yes, when a browser-based app that installs on a phone is enough. It avoids store review and keeps one codebase. We say so when a native app would serve you better.

Can you take over an existing application?

Often. We review the code first and tell you whether to extend it, refactor it or rebuild parts. The review is part of discovery.

Who owns the code?

You do. Repositories, domains and service accounts are handed over. NDA on request.
