Custom mobile app development, iOS and Android

Custom mobile app development for iOS and Android with Flutter or React Native, a backend API and store submission. Written scope, you own the code.

A mobile app is three jobs at once: the app on the phone, the backend it talks to, and the store process that decides whether anyone can install it. Plenty of agencies sell the first and leave you holding the other two. We scope all three in writing before the build starts.

What we deliver

  • The app. iOS and Android from one codebase with Flutter or React Native, or a progressive web app when a store listing is not needed.
  • The backend and API. Authentication, data storage, push notification service, admin tools and the REST API the app calls.
  • Store submission. Listings created under your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, builds uploaded, review feedback handled.
  • Analytics and crash reporting. Set up before launch, so the first week of real use produces data.
  • Handover. Repository, build and release instructions, signing keys and documentation, all transferred to you.

Cross-platform or native: how we choose

Most business apps do not need two separate native codebases. They need to work well on both platforms and stay affordable to change.

Situation Usual recommendation
Forms, lists, accounts, payments, maps, notifications Flutter or React Native, one codebase
Heavy graphics, advanced camera or sensor use Native modules inside a cross-platform app, or fully native
Content that changes often, no device features needed Progressive web app, no store review
One platform only, for now Start there. Add the second when the first earns it

We state the recommendation and its cost in the written scope. If a progressive web app would do the job, we say that instead of selling an app.

Things buyers learn late

  • Store review is a dependency. Apple and Google review every release. We plan for rejections and rewording, not just code.
  • Accounts must be yours. Developer accounts held by an agency become a problem the day you part ways. We create them under your name.
  • Operating systems change every year. An app that is not maintained eventually breaks. Maintenance is scoped, not assumed.
  • The backend is half the product. Offline behaviour, sync conflicts and push delivery are backend decisions made in week one.

How the build runs

  1. Brief and discovery. Users, devices, offline needs, integrations.
  2. Written scope and estimate. Screens, features, backend work, store tasks and a USD estimate. You adjust it before we build.
  3. Design and prototype. Core flows tested on a real phone early.
  4. Increments. Each ends with a build you install and try, plus a recorded demo.
  5. Beta and store submission. Test builds to your testers, then submission to both stores.
  6. Handover and support. Everything in your accounts. Fixes and OS-update work continue as agreed.

Stack

Flutter or React Native for the app, Laravel or Node.js for the backend, PostgreSQL or MySQL for data, REST APIs and webhooks for integrations. We choose from the team that will maintain it, not from trend lists.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to have a mobile app developed?

It depends on scope: platforms, screens, integrations, offline needs and backend work. After a short discovery call you get a written estimate in USD. There is no price list because no two apps match.

Can I develop a mobile app on my own?

For a simple prototype, yes, with no-code tools or an AI assistant. For an app with accounts, payments, store review and years of OS updates, the work is engineering. We are candid in discovery about which side your idea falls on.

Can ChatGPT build me an app?

It can draft screens and snippets, and that helps a prototype. It does not handle secure authentication, store compliance, release management or maintenance for you. Treat generated code as a draft that still needs an engineer.

iOS, Android or both?

Both from one codebase is the usual answer with Flutter or React Native. If budget is tight, launch on the platform where most of your users are and add the other later.

Who owns the app and the store accounts?

You do. The developer accounts are created in your name, and the code, signing keys and documentation are handed over. NDA on request.

Can you work across time zones?

Yes. We are a remote team in GMT+7 and work asynchronously: written updates, recorded demos and a shared task board.
