IT staff augmentation services

IT staff augmentation services: add remote developers to your team, part time or full time. You direct the work, you keep the code. Based in GMT+7.

Your team is good and short of hands. A new project needs one backend developer for a quarter, or a mobile specialist two days a week. Hiring takes months and the need may be gone by then. IT staff augmentation adds skilled people to your own team for as long as you need them, and ends when you do.

What staff augmentation is

A developer from our team joins your team. You decide the tasks, review the work and set the pace, as you would with an employee. We handle the engagement: the person’s availability, standards of work and communication. The code goes into your repository.

It is different from a project, where we own delivery against a written scope. It is also different from a dedicated team, which works as a unit on your roadmap. Augmentation fits when you already have management and architecture and need capacity.

Ways to engage

Model What it looks like Fits when
Part-time augmentation One developer for a set number of days a week Spiky workload, a single specialist skill
Full-time augmentation One or two developers working full time in your team A deadline, a backlog or a gap while hiring
Short engagement A defined stretch of weeks A migration, an integration, a release

Hours, duration and notice terms are written in the agreement for each engagement.

Who we can add

Based on the stack we work in:

  • Back end: Laravel, Node.js, REST APIs and webhooks, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Front end: React and Next.js.
  • Mobile: Flutter and React Native.
  • CMS and commerce: WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify.
  • Automation and AI: n8n, Make, OpenAI and Claude API integration.

If you need a role outside this list, ask. We say no when we cannot staff it properly. We do not publish headcount or rate cards. Availability is confirmed in writing before you commit.

How it works week to week

  1. Brief. The role, the stack, the hours per week and the start date.
  2. Written proposal. Role, hours, working hours, communication rhythm and a USD estimate. You review it.
  3. Introduction. You speak with the developer before you commit.
  4. Onboarding. You grant access to your repository, task board and chat. The developer works in your accounts.
  5. First task. A small, real ticket reviewed together.
  6. Steady state. The developer joins your stand-ups or posts written updates, as you prefer.
  7. Wind-down. You remove access, and a short handover note covers anything in flight.

Communication, time zones and tools

The developer uses your tools: GitHub or GitLab, Jira or similar, Slack or Teams. Updates are written. Calls take place inside shared hours. With both sides on 09:00 to 17:00:

Your location Shared working hours
Singapore, Perth 7 hours
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane 4 to 5 hours
London, Central Europe 1 to 3 hours
US and Canada None at standard hours. Shifted hours or an async rhythm, agreed in writing

IP, NDA and security

  • The code and IP created for you belong to you.
  • NDA is available on request and signed before you share details.
  • Access is granted by you, in your accounts, and removed by you.
  • We do not ask for credentials to systems the role does not need.

Staff augmentation or a project?

If you have clear requirements and no capacity to manage, a scoped project is better: we own the delivery. If you manage well and lack hands, augmentation costs less overhead. If you want us to run the whole thing from a remote team, see offshore software development.

Frequently asked questions

What is staff augmentation in the IT field?

It is hiring external developers to work inside your team for a period, under your direction. You get capacity and skills without a permanent hire.

How much does staff augmentation cost?

It depends on the role, the hours and the length of the engagement. After a short discovery call you get a written monthly estimate in USD. We do not publish rates.

What are staff augmentation services?

They are the sourcing, onboarding and day-to-day support of external developers placed in a client’s team. Our version includes the introduction, onboarding and written working terms.

Who manages the developer?

You do, day to day: tasks, priorities and reviews. We stay responsible for the developer’s availability, standards and communication.

Who owns the code the developer writes?

You do. It goes into your repository and the agreement assigns the IP to you.

Can I end the engagement?

Yes. Notice terms are written into the agreement before you start.
